Advanced Settings

Beyond basic colors and text, the Advanced Tab in Agent Management allows you to fine-tune the cognitive and interactive behavior of your AI agent.

Chat History Persistence

Enable History: When toggled on, the AI agent uses the user’s local browser storage (localStorage) to remember their conversation. If they refresh the page or navigate to a different page on your site, their chat history will persist, creating a seamless, uninterrupted user experience.

Trust and Source Citations

Show Sources: When enabled, the AI agent will automatically append clickable reference links to the end of its responses. These links point directly to the specific URLs it referenced from your Knowledge Base to generate the answer, significantly increasing transparency and user trust.

Engagement Triggers

Auto Open: When enabled, the AI agent widget will automatically pop open on the screen after a set duration, grabbing the user’s attention. This is a highly effective conversion rate optimization (CRO) tactic for increasing engagement and lead capture.

Humanized Interactions

Typing Delay (ms): Artificial intelligence can process and respond instantly, which can sometimes feel jarring to humans. Add a slight typing delay (in milliseconds) to simulate a natural, human-like typing speed before the AI agent’s message appears on screen.

Offline Fallback

In the Offline Message Tab, you can configure a fallback message. This message is displayed to users if your account runs out of AI credits or if the user experiences a network failure, ensuring they always receive a professional response.
